Besides science, my passions are mountaineering and rock climbing. For me, good ideas rarely arise while sitting at a desk. It is in the mountains or while climbing a rock face where I get my enthusiasm and inspirations. Climbing is more than just a sport for me, it is part of my identity.
 

 
Above and beyond climbing for personal enjoyment, I am an instructor in the federal education team of the German Alpine Association, teaching youth guides. It is a great pleasure for me to pass on my knowledge and experiences to the next generation of dedicated young people.
